Pastel Dominates

Many designers are changing direction for S/S 2010, almost no more neon bright colours are seen, the new thing is pastels. Soft blush-pink, delphinium blue, pistacchio and lilac are making their way in many runway shows throughout fashion weeks around the globe. Michael Kors uses this pallete for the first time and does it beautifully, by being influenced by architecture we can see a perfect balance between pretty and strong. This style was shown by combining pastels with zippers, plastic and geometric cut outs, all of this together created a gorgeous collection. Other designers also used this palette along with different feminime touches like florals and ruffles. Marc Jacobs and Jonathan Saunders also pulled it off brilliantly but at the same time making the whole collection edgy and modern, not even a bit washed out. So, bring out the girly girl in you for spring/summer 2010!
